Sujata Koirala Attends Opening Ceremony of China-Nepal Art Exhibition Celebrating 70 Years of Diplomatic Ties

In celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, Sujata Koirala, a senior leader of Nepal, attended the opening ceremony of the “A Propitious Life – New Year Paintings from the Collection of Shanghai” exhibition as the Chief Guest.

The event was jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and the China Cultural Center Nepal. The exhibition, titled “Years of Happiness,” showcases traditional Chinese New Year paintings and aims to promote cross-cultural appreciation and strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations.

Ms. Koirala, in her remarks, highlighted the long-standing friendship between Nepal and China and emphasized the role of cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and goodwill. The event was also graced by the presence of Deputy Chief of Mission Hon. Wang Xin, Vice Chancellor of the China Academy of Art, and other distinguished dignitaries from both countries.

The ceremony featured ribbon-cutting, cultural performances, and a special showcase of New Year artwork that reflects themes of prosperity, joy, and harmony. Attendees included students, artists, diplomats, and representatives of cultural institutions.

The exhibition stands as a vibrant symbol of the deepening cultural partnership between Nepal and China, celebrating shared history, traditions, and aspirations for a prosperous future.
