Namaste and Good Evening.
It is truly a delight to join you all on this special evening, one that marks a new chapter in Nepal’s global engagement, through the inauguration of the Ambassadors’ Club, IRGDD, and the launch of Diplomat Nepal.
As a former Foreign Minister, I have witnessed firsthand how diplomacy shapes destinies not only through formal agreements, but also through quiet dialogue, cultural exchanges, and shared understanding. In that spirit, I see these platforms as timely and transformative. Today, as the world grapples with interconnected crises from climate vulnerability to geopolitical fractures Nepal’s voice, rooted in resilience and neutrality, can offer solutions that bridge divides.
I would like to sincerely commend Ambassador Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal for her vision and tireless leadership. She has planted the seeds of something truly meaningful. By fostering collaboration between seasoned diplomats, emerging leaders, and civil society, these initiatives will amplify Nepal’s role as a steward of peace, whether through our contributions to UN peacekeeping or our advocacy for the Least Developed Countries.
We are reminded tonight of the quiet but compelling strength of Track two diplomacy where dialogue is more informal, yet no less powerful. And of soft power which flows not from military might or economic wealth, but from values, culture, knowledge, and human connection. Nepal’s ancient heritage as a crossroads of civilizations, from Lumbini’s spiritual legacy to the Himalayas’ unifying majesty, positions us to champion inclusivity in an era of fragmentation.
Through storytelling, research, and relationship-building, Nepal can lead not in volume, but in wisdom; not through pressure, but through presence. Let us also empower our youth, whose digital fluency and global outlook can redefine diplomacy, ensuring our traditions evolve with the times.
These initiatives carry that promise. May they also inspire partnerships to safeguard our planet, elevate South Asian solidarity, and harness technology as a force for equitable progress.
I offer my heartfelt congratulations and unwavering support. May this endeavor flourish and help write a new narrative for Nepal on the world stage, one where our small nation’s humility becomes our greatest strength, and our mountains remind the world that the loftiest goals are achieved step by step.
Thank you, and Jay Nepal.
