Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation felicitated volunteers of the ICAPP (International Conference for Asian Political Parties) Workshop on “Human Trafficking” held in Kathmandu from 16-18 January 2014. The workshop was Co-hosted by the ICAPP Secretariat, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare/Government of Nepal and Political Parties (Nepali Congress Party, Nepal Communist Party – UML, Unified Communist Party of Nepal – UCPN Maoist, Communist Party of Nepal- Maoist and Madhesi People’s Right Forum- Nepal) of Nepal and Co-sponsored by Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The workshop was attended by representatives of the Asian Political Parties including several political parties of Nepal.
On the occasion, on behalf of the Chairperson of the Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation and Organizing Committee Sujata Koirala, Executive Director of the Foundation Mr. Rakesh Hamal distributed the Certificate of Appreciation to the volunteers from the Nepal Tourism and Hotel Management Academy. Mr Rakesh Hamal thanked and congratulated the volunteers for their collective contributions made to make the event successful. He further added that Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation is engaged in improving the lives of Nepalese people by adopting the vision and path set out by the legendary leader of all Nepalese, late Girija Prasad Koirala. He highlighted the role of the volunteers which was very important to the hosting of the conference, including the traditional hospitality offered to the international delegates and making their stay comfortable and memorable.
The Workshop was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Hon. Mr. Khil Raj Regmi and Chaired by the Vice Chairperson of the ICAPP Women’s Wing and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee Hon. Sujata Koirala.
